About the Author

Dr. Antonio W. J. Ferreira

Author · Researcher · Biblical Teacher

"Truth does not fear examination. Every doctrine deserves to stand before the testimony of Scripture."

A Lifetime of Seeking Biblical Truth

Dr. Antonio W. J. Ferreira has devoted more than two decades to the careful study of Scripture, biblical ethics, church history, and the relationship between faith and obedience. His passion is not merely to answer theological questions but to encourage believers to examine every doctrine in the light of God's Word.

Holding a PhD in Biblical Ethics from North-West University, South Africa, together with a Master of Theology from the University of the Virgin Islands and a Master of Biblical Counselling from North-West University, Antonio combines more than twenty years of academic research with a practical desire to make complex biblical subjects understandable for ordinary readers.

Rather than writing from the perspective of denominational tradition, he seeks to return readers to the Scriptures themselves, allowing the biblical text to speak with clarity and authority.

His writing explores subjects that many believers have never examined in depth, including the continuity of God's commandments, the historical development of Christian traditions, and the importance of testing long-held assumptions against the whole counsel of Scripture.

In 1986, Dr. Ferreira served as a young signalman in the South African Defense Force, where a simple classroom exercise about a message passed from person to person would return to him years later in a very different setting. A radical encounter with God on a mission trip to Botswana turned that same question — has the message stayed whole? — toward Scripture itself. Nearly twenty years of study, pastoral work, and evangelism later, When Wolves Guard the Flock is his answer.

Today, Antonio lives on Australia's Sunshine Coast with his wife, Linda, where they continue to encourage believers through writing, teaching, and fellowship.

Why I Write

A Personal Note

I do not write to create controversy.

I write because I believe every Christian should feel free to examine what they have always been taught.

If a doctrine is true, careful examination will strengthen it. If it cannot withstand Scripture, then we should have the humility to follow God's Word wherever it leads.

My desire is that every reader would become like the Bereans, who "received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so."
